About Sydney Sabre Academy
Sydney Sabre Academy first opened in 2020 under Tony Watts with the support of Sydney Sabre Centre.
Following years building a community in Revesby around Sabre, Gerard would later join as a graduate of Sydney Sabre and provide lessons for the students of Sydney Sabre Academy.
Gerard has since taken over on the management of the club and teaches the class and lesson schedule. He is driven by a passion to share his love of sabre to those who are interested to give it a try.

Having stoked a passion for Sabre by learning from the illustrious John Chow, Gerard brings energy and exuberance to building the Revesby Sabre community and making sabre accessible to the wider community.

Anthony Watts
Tony has a storied career in sabre spanning over 40 years, having represented NSW and Australia at every level of national and international competition. Now, he's decided to share his passion with the next generation.

John Chow
John started teaching sabre in 2009 (opening Sydney Sabre in 2011) and takes an old-school scientific approach to sabre training. He continues to fence - occasionally to World Cup level - to test his theories on himself.

Lucas Sewell
Joining the club under Anthony Watts, Lucas awakened a love for fencing that drove him to improve at every opportunity. He accepted an assistant teaching position under Gerard to spread this desire to those around him.
